Weber Q320 Gas Grill
If you
don’t want to go to all the hassle of setting up a charcoal grill whenever you want a BBQ and let’s face it, how long does it take to get a decent charcoal grill going anyway? Then get yourself a gas grill, because gas grills are so much less work! The Weber Q320 gas grill cooks up to 18 burgers, 36 hot dogs, or 2 whole chickens at a time.
The unit features dual stainless-steel burners, a 21,700 BTU-per-hour input, and 462 square inches of total cooking space, plus a 69-square-inch warming rack for heating up buns or keeping already cooked food warm.
The grill surface is cast iron, which is brilliant in several ways. Unlike stainless or porcelain covered grates, the cast iron grill has no wide open spaces for food to fall through. I have grilled hotdogs in all directions without any of them slipping through. I’ve even sliced various vegetables into 1/2 inch slices and they cook beautifully on the cast iron grill without any worry of losing any. Potatoes, zucchini, onions, carrots, etc. Spray some olive oil on them and put them on the grill to cook. Delicious!!
I’ve found that leaving the burners set to medium for most items produces the best results. One nice feature is that by looking at the grill from either end, you can see inside the unit without opening the hood, so if you happen to get a flame up, you can see it and take action. Of course, with no rocks, briquettes or flavor bars, the chance for flame ups is greatly reduced anyway.
If when you grill in the evening, then having the handle light is a nice feature. This will save you the trouble of hanging a light nearby. You can leave the grill outside all the time in any kind of weather no problem, as the stand on the Q320 is all plastic so obviously it won’t corrode or rust. The premium cover provides good protection too.
This is the grill I’ve been waiting for. Maybe in time, someone may develop a better one, but I really don’t see how the Weber Q320 can be improved.
